The gold luster and mother of pearl reflect light, incorporating the surrounding people and memories into the gift itself. By not showing the present inside, I aim to highlight the beauty of gift giving and how it is not necessarily about the present itself, but the thought that went into the gesture. The structured folds in the bag as well as the light bring the piece an elevated look that stresses how changes in tradition, like using more environmentally conscious materials opposed to traditional wrapping paper, is not at the cost of forming meaningful memories.
